Fishing cats are very succesful swimmers. And like their title suggests, they prey on fish. The Indian fishing cat is a smaller feline predator, about twice the scale of home cats. They’re mostly present in West Bengal’s Sunderbans, Odisha’s Chilika lagoon and Andhra Pradesh’s Krishna mangroves. Slotted beneath the ‘susceptible’ class on the Worldwide Union for Conservation of Nature’s Pink Record, the species is on the threat of changing into endangered.
